Since many people enjoy this song,but don´t understand the lyrics,I thought a translation might be welcomed. Moreover,even if it´s holiday,I still have to practice my German somehow. Anyway,I hope I didn´t make major mistakes;if you find some, please let me know.I´ve been studying German language for two years,as my third language,so don´t expect too much from me. I just noticed that the part with the finance office is wrong. “Wegen euch sind wir beliebt bei…” is “Because of you we’re popular at…” or something like that. Mixed up “beliebt” and “bleiben”?;)

the biggest contentual mistake that I noticed was “Dies ist ein Lied auch für dich, weil du uns schon immer Scheiße fandst” actually means “This is a song also for you, because you all along found us creppy”
And then “A song, also for you, because you dislike us”
And…”Mit dir können unsere Fans sich nach Herzenslust zanken” – “With you people can our fans quarrel from their heart’s content…”

I’LL POST HERE A P.M. SENT BY sEISHUNmEMBER, WHICH I FIND VERY IMPORTANT IN “DECODING” THIS SONG:
” one thing in content: your translation destroyed the part “weil du stundenlang zuhause sitzt und brennst” because the irony is that it is not clear from the context if they meant “burn inside” or “burn cd’s” that was the joke^^

thanks a lot for suggestions, i was confused by that structure with the Eltern.
i’ve also seen the same thing from other die aertze trasnlations, they are very keen on inventing words and stuff.
i keep studying german and i hope one day i’ll manage to do better translations.

The translation shurely isn’t perfect but quite understandable.
Perhaps it helps you to know that “nicht von schlechten Eltern” is a phrase. It means that something is quite impressive or well done.
In the song its a pun because it makes the line impossible to rhyme
